影視翻譯有兩個翻譯層次。第一個層次是原文資料再造—草翻資料—譯文這個過程組成。第二個層次則是由原文再造—譯文這個過程組成。

在第一個層次當中，第一步驟是指作者與譯者的互動交流。譯者需要以源語言做為背景語言，通過對源語言的分析來得到翻譯信息的正確表達。第二步驟則是譯者與觀眾之間的互動交流。在這個步驟中，譯者必須以目標語言做為背景語言，通過構建合理的場景，用精確的目標語來表達出觀眾們喜聞樂道的內容。第三步驟是第一步驟與第二步驟的合并，譯者在第三步驟中起到橋梁的作用。無論是第一層還是第二層的翻譯過程都是無形的，譯者都應該以讀者觀眾的目的為出發點，否則這影視翻譯的進行就毫無意義了。
In the first level, the first step refers to the interaction between the author and the translator. The translator needs to take the source language as the background language to get the correct expression of translation information through the analysis of the source language. The second step is the interaction between the translator and the audience. In this step, the translator must take the target language as the background language, construct a reasonable scene, and use the accurate target language to express the content that the audience likes to hear. The third step is the combination of the first step and the second step. No matter the translation process of the first or the second level is intangible, the translator should take the audience's purpose as the starting point, otherwise the film and television translation will be meaningless.
